so i sat down in my studio on Monday evening with all my new toys spread out and tinkered away at some ear wires. I've never made any before and it was super fun! I don't think I'd want to make thousands of them but I do like being able to make earrings out of the little bits and pieces of awesomeness that come into my life.
here's the first pair- they have a long sort of narrow kidney shaped ear wire with matching bits of vintage lace from a tattered dress that belonged to my great aunt. the wires latch along the back.
pair 2, larger circular ear wires. i see these all over etsy and a friend of mine is partial to them as well. i like the simple shape and they are super comfortable to wear.
last pair i made. first i made the wires and then i rooted around in my stuff for something to put on them. i came across these super sweet round globe's of peach pearls i've had forever (bonus- thay match a super long strand of larger peach pearls i have!). a few jump rings later and they are good to go.
that's it for now. i'm working up to using the new torch!

I looovve the ear wires with the pearls.
What did you use to stiffen the lace; Glue is good also clear spray paint (a little stiffer. Gesso should work also.
spray starch!
The possibilities with making your own ear wires are so varied and wonderful! Have fun with your new tools, and of course if you need any help let me know.
