love: hollywood bowl

this past Saturday my fella took me for the first time to the Hollywood Bowl!

I'd never been before and it was great fun. I made us a yummers picnic and bundled it all into a great picnic basket my mum just gave me a few weeks ago. Home made sandwiches with basil, mozzarella, tomatoes and salami and home made potato salad and home made melon cucumber salad. We headed over to the bowl with plenty of time to stake out a perfect people watching picnic spot to enjoy our snacks and bottle of wine. The show was great and the fireworks and can can dancers from the Moulin Rouge were also fantastic. I totally enjoyed it and can't wait to pick out shows for next season.

oh, and on friday night my fella and i went out for a drive and a glass of wine. on the way back i spotted a chair by the road just down the street from our house. after a quick u-turn, mr.king left me sitting in the chair and drove home to get a bigger car to put it in. we loaded it up and brought it home! it's a 1960's vintage plycraft chair. super cool, there are some cracks in the seat cushion but I had a fuzzy thing from ikea that covers that just fine and makes it super cozy. free chair score!
